Elevated feeding bowls should be positioned about 4-6 inches below your dog's wither height (top of its shoulder). Remember, the bottom of the bowl is approximately 3" lower than the height of the feeder.
You really just want your dog to be in a comfortable position while eating or drinking, not reaching upward.
